Josh Oakes
Josh is our detail-obsessed Director of Optimization. You’ve probably never wondered if smaller drop shadows affect how many items a customer will purchase online. That’s why the world needs people like Josh. He spearheads our work in conversion optimization: using data from real world tests to determine what works and what doesn’t for your customers on your site.
Josh has been working on the web for 15 years–longer than most folks have been using email. He started building and improving websites while studying English at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. He’s designed applications for Windows Mobile and Palm OS, built web applications for higher education, cultured Mabe Pearls in Haliotis Rufescens (the California Red Abalone), and managed service operations and strategy at Apple Specialists in California and Tennessee.
He also owns–and can field strip–an original Macintosh.
If you’re in the Nashville area, you may also have seen Josh photographing BarCamp Nashville 2009 or speaking at PodCamp Nashville 2010.
