I know I haven’t said much of anything here in a while, and I do mean to be better about that, but for the moment, just a quick thought: I keep reading all this speculation about whether there will be adoption for the Palm Pre as a third-party application development platform. Because to read it, you’d think that the iPhone somehow broke new ground by managing to motivate large amounts of developers to build a vast array of third-party app options.
But any longtime Palm OS user knows that while the App Store may have made the purchase and installation process much easier, the availability was certainly there for Palm software.
So while I don’t know for sure that the same developers will switch right back over to the Palm Pre’s platform, there is reason to think that it won’t take much encouragement.
