Every Page is a Landing Page

This is just a friendly reminder that when designing or redesigning your site, and when looking at your metrics, that every page on your site where a visitor can land is a landing page – whether it’s an identified landing page as part of a marketing campaign or an organic landing in the middle of nowhere from a long-tail google search.

It’s hard to remember that during the design process when you’re focusing on the site as a whole. It does take more work to try and design a “come in anywhere” experience, but the good news is that it benefits everyone. Just as tools ergonomically designed to benefit arthritis sufferers reduce strain for everyone, improving the signposts, using explicit calls to action, and clear next steps can help all your visitors have a positive experience.
